Partners in Crime is a collection of short stories that revolve around the same characters. The stories are different cases that the main characters try to solve. In all the stories you can tell that they are mimicking stories of some famous detectives, like Sherlock Holmes.
Based on some of the things the characters say in the story I believe that this story is set sometime after or during WWII because the characters talk about Bolsheviks and spies.
The book starts with a discussion between Tuppence and Tommy, who have been married for six years. Tuppence is not very happy with her life; she wants’ to have adventures and live unexpected things.
After their discussion Mr. Carter appears and tells the couple that he wants them to take over the International Detective Agency. They accept and hire Albert as their assistant.
After that first part of the book, the rest of the little stories are about the characters, their adventures and mysteries and the way they solve them.
In the last story of the book, at the end, Tuppence reveals to Tommy that she is going to have a baby and that she wants to stop being a detective.
I founded very interesting that in the first story when they talk about the fairy in the photograph and they refer to Conan Doyle; because in the 1920 there were some pictures of some girls in their garden with some fairies and Conan Doyle believed that this pictures were true and he wrote an article and a book were he wrote some theories about what happened.

Fairy tale
Anne and Paul, two high school sweethearts, where coming back home after their collage graduation. They were very happy because after dating for seven years they decided to get married. They were the perfect couple, they finished college and both got good jobs offers. Everything was looking good for their future.
They went to Anne’s parents house and gave them the good news, Anne’s mother started to cry because of happiness. They all knew Paul for so many years and she hoped they get to be as happy as they deserve. They celebrated and made plans to get together with Paul’s parents and start to plan the wedding.
After that the couple started their journey to Paul’s parent’s house that was about one hour away.
It was getting dark and Paul’s parent house was on a hill and the road was a little narrow but they didn’t care because they were coming to give his parents the good news.
They arrived at Paul’s parent’s house and told them the news, his parents started to jump up and down because they were waiting for that moment for many years. Paul told them that after the wedding they have to move to a different state because they got their dream job and they could not let that opportunity go away.
Paul’s parents didn’t feel to happy about them moving far from home but they thought that they have to start building their future and if that is the best way well, that’s what they have to do.
The couple started their way back home while Paul’s mother was on the phone with Anne’s. They said good bye and set the time where they were going to get together to star planning the wedding.
At the middle of their way they could see the lights of another car coming. Paul started to slow down but they didn’t expected the other car to come toward theirs, Paul tried to maneuver but they could not stop the road was wet and they slide and fell from a cliff. They look each other as if they could not explain what was happening. After realizing they were falling and maybe they were not going to make it they look at each other eyes and both said, ¨If we die we will make everything possible to find each other¨. They hugged and the car crashed.
The couple’s parent’s where devastated, they could not accept what just happened but there was nothing to do that beautiful story of their kids was finished.
Nine month later in different countries two ladies gave birth; one to a boy whom she named Paul and the other gave birth to a beautiful girl whom they named Anne. None of those ladies knew but while they where giving birth they felt those where the right names for their kids.
This newborns where welcome to this world with all the happiness and love from their parents, they both lived healthy lives, they were good students and both planed to go to college but before that they were planning a graduation trip with their best friends. They arranged everything and a day after graduation they got on a plane expecting to have the time of their lives.
Anne went for a walk outside her hotel and without knowing she slipped and out of nowhere she felt a hand grabbed her and helped her up. She got up and when she was going to thank the person who helped her, they look at each other eyes and could not believe that finally they found each other. Paul, is it you? Anne, is it you? They both said YES!! They hug, cried and look each other again. Anne said: I knew this was going to happen we committed to the love we had and I was positive that sooner or later we will get together and finally we could have the chance to be happy.

Dialogue about Media
Mario I cannot believe how many things I have to carry around, I have too much work and having to carry a laptop everywhere is not that practical, it is really big and does not fit everywhere.
Fernando Maybe you need an iPad.
Mario What is that?
Fernando It is almost like a small computer, but really thin and small. Maybe that is what you need.
Mario It sounds too good to be true and I am not really good with technology, I have a laptop but I just use it to work, I don not want to have to learn how to use something new.
Fernando It is not hard to use, it is actually very simple and it has everything you need for your work.

Fernando I just bought one, and it has really helped me. I can do my presentations to show to the clients, I can go on the Internet, read books, I also have maps, it also has a calendar, so you can remember everything and many other things that are very useful.
